Organizing Notes

Deepink keeps notes flexible through a simple lifecycle: create, organize, store, and remove.

Create a new note with Cmd + N to quickly capture your idea.

When you have any active tag in current view that tag will be automatically assigned on a new note. You can change that behavior in Workspace settings, to set no tags for a new notes.

Tags are the primary way to organize notes in your workspace.

  • A note can have multiple tags
  • You can add or change attached tags at any time
  • Tags control how notes are grouped and filtered
  • You can create nested tags like diary/sport/2025

You may create many notes with no tags to quickly capture something, and organize it later.

Pin a note to keep it at the top of the list.

  • Pinned notes always appear above others in the same view
  • Useful for active or important notes

Star a note to quickly access it later.

  • Starred notes are collected in the Favorites view
  • This is independent of tags and pinning

Archive a note to hide it from the main list without deleting it.

  • Archived notes are moved to the Archive tab
  • You can restore them at any time

Deleted notes are moved to the Bin.

Unlike the Archive, the bin purpose is to temporary keep notes that is not needed anymore for case of accidental deletion or just if you will rethink to delete anything.

In vault settings you can setup a retention policy for a bin. You can automate a permanent deletion for a notes moved in bin more than N days ago.

You can permanently delete a note from the Bin.

  • This action cannot be undone
  • The note is removed immediately
